In order to apply basic body building techniques, one thing you do is lift heavier weights for fewer reps. Start off by choosing a muscle group like the chest. To begin, light weights to warmup. Your warm up should included 15 to 20 reps. For your second set, select a weight for which you can only perform 6-8 reps. Add five pounds to the weight and the repeat this for a third set.

Don’t worry! You can also try biking for alternative fitness. Biking is a cheap way to increase your fitness level as you go to work each day. Riding five miles to work should take you about a half hour and you will get double the fitness since you have to ride home.

You can tell how far you have walked in a day if you use a pedometer through the day. Wear exercise shoes that fit. Try to shop for exercise shoes during nighttime because your feet tend to be bigger at this time. Before you use a piece of equipment at the gym, clean it off. Other users of the equipment may have left bacteria and, at least, sweat. You came to the gym to feel good, not to become ill.

Avoid referring to your fitness program as working out or exercising. Simply by referring to it using either of those terms may actually decrease your motivation to exercise. Try referring to them by their activities, such as running or walking.

If your exercise happens sporadically, or not at all, make yourself an exercise schedule. Plan the days and the times you will work out, and stick to it.
